AN INTRODUCTION TO THE MET-L-CHEK® COMPANY
Loy Sockman was issued the first U. S. Patent for visible dye penetrants. Sockman founded the Met-L-Chek Company about 1950, becoming the first company in the U. S. to exclusively manufacture penetrant materials.Today Met-L-Chek personnel continue this tradition of innovation. Three chapters in the latest edition of the ASNT penetrant handbook were authored by Met-L-Chek personnel, and these same people hold patents. Together, the president and the general manager of Met-L-Chek have over 60 years of experience in the penetrant field.
Met-L-Chek manufactures a full line of penetrant inspection materials approved under AMS-2644, and by all major prime contractors. Several Met-L-Chek products are the standards specified for conform-ance to AMS-2644. Every
batch conforms to the requirements of the military and civilian specifications. These penetrants are used globally by industry and the military. Met-L-Chek also sells magnetic particles, carrier fluid, pre & post inspection cleaning materials, and the popular Infinitex® line of nanofilter units for treating penetrant inspection effluent. Met-L-Chek maintains a laboratory for the recertification of in-use materials.
Met-L-Chek products are different from other AMS-2644 qualified brands in one very important
respect. That of price! In terms of value, Met-L-Chek products offer the user an exceptional opportunity to reduce costs.
Who uses Met-L-Chek products? Aerospace companies such as General Electric, Boeing, and Pratt &
Whitney. Nuclear fabricators, such as Westinghouse and GE, nuclear power plants, and nuclear
submarine bases. Large and small forge shops and foundries. Welders and machine shops. Military
equipment manufacturers, such as General Dynamics. Test laboratories and boiler inspectors. The U.S. military uses large quantities of Met-L-Chek
penetrants.
The advantages of using Met-L-Chek products are that the user receives top quality materials,
consistency from batch to batch, and full approvals with certifications. All this at prices which are designed to save money from a company that has been in business for 50 years. Our popular Pen-Chek® service, for the periodic recertification of penetrant materials, boasts 24 hour turn around, with results faxed or emailed to the customer. Our Mag-Chek service, for recertification of magnetic particle baths, meets NADCAP requirements, and are just as fast.
Met-L-Chek is EXTREMELY customer conscious. We ship our products promptly, and with the
requested certifications. We are available for technical questions in person, via phone, FAX, or email. Four words describe Met-L-Chek: Quality, Expertise, Service, and Value. |
